When your kids are having a party, a great little delicious recipe to make is the apple fritter face. It´s quick and easy to prepare and a great way to get your child to eat fruit. You´ll be the King and queen of the party with this treat, and you´ll have to prepare quite a few as they will soon disappear from the plate! Here´s what you need:

Ingredients
2 cups of flour
2 apples
2 eggs
1 cup of milk
powdered sugar
8 chocolate covered peanut balls
sunflower oil
How to prepare:
First of all prepare the batter by mixing in a food processor or in a large bowl the 2 cups of flour, 2 eggs, and the cup of milk, mix well. After that, peel the apples, you can use apples to your liking, and cut them into round slices. At continuation, start to heat the oil in a large frying pan and place abundant oil in so that each apple round will be covered. While the oil is heating, start to soak the apple rounds in the already prepared batter, and then place them straight into the oil when it´s piping hot. You can normally fit between 4-5 apple rounds in the frying pan, depending on the size of your frying pan.
Once you see that your apple rounds are browning, turn them over so that both sides become a nice golden brown colour. Once all of them are browned to your liking extract them carefully with a spatula, taking care not to stain yourself with the oil, and place them onto a plate with two sheets of kitchen roll to soak up any excess oil.
Finally, generously sprinkle powdered sugar over the fritters and position the chocolate covered peanut balls so that you make two eyes and a mouth, or whatever face you wish to create. Good appetite and enjoy your party!

Encouraging your children to sit down and eat can sometimes be a daily problem, however if you prepare the food in a more interesting way, your child will more eager to eat it. I am going to give you an easy recipe which I prepared for my little one and she liked it a lot. The recipe of white bean and tomato smiley face! Here´s what you´ll need to create this great dish:
Ingredients
250-300 grams of white beans
1 slice of fresh tomato
1/2 tin of crushed tomato
1 long slice of cucumber
quarter of a gherkin
tomato ketchup or brown sauce
How to prepare:
First of all cook the white beans in a pan of boiling water until there are ready for about 20-25 minutes. When they are cooked, remove them from the heat, but leave them to stand in the water. The next step is to prepare the crushed tomato by just heating it in the pan, and adding any extra salt if you wish, depending on your child´s tastes. At continuation, take the cucumber and cut it into a mouth shape, also cut the slice of tomato into two halves, cut the quarter of the gherkin into two circles (for the eyes) and then squeeze a blob of tomato ketchup, or brown sauce, onto each gherkin, as this will ne the pupils of the eyes. Now we are ready to put the face onto the plate. Drain off the white beans and pour them onto the plate so that they form a circle, as this forms the head, then, carefully pour the crushed tomato sauce around the top of the ´head´as will be the ´hair´of your smiley face. Now for the eyes, take the two gherkins and put them onto the face to form the eyes, then place the fresh tomato halves above to form the eyebrows, and lastly put the cucumber to form the mouth. There you are! A perfectly simple and tasty nutricious meal for your child to enjoy. Good appetite!
Many young children love the characters of the Mr.men and Little miss, so have you ever thought of making them a character to eat? I did just that one lunch time for my daughter, and she really liked it. I decided to create Mr.Strong out of simple ingredients, here´s what you need:

INGREDIENTS:
1 slice of bread(integral or white)
Butter or margarine
1 large red pepper
2 cheese triangles(dairy lee or other)
1 slice of fresh tomato
1 tea spoon of tomato ketchup
HOW TO PREPARE:
The first step is to toast the bread on both sides in a toaster or under the grill, I used integral bread, but it doesn´t matter if you want to use white bread. The next step is to prepare the parts of his ´body´; Take the red pepper, wash it well, then slice it down the middle and cut 4 even length long pieces (these pieces are his arms and his legs).Next, with the remains of the red pepper cut out a semi-circle( the nose), cut a semi-circular shape of fresh tomato( the mouth), and finally the 2 dairly lee cheese triangles are the eyes.
Now you´re ready to make up your Mr. Strong character on the plate. Take the toasted bread and spread it with the butter or margarine so that it covers all of the slice, (this is actually the body of your character) and place it on the plate. The next step is to take the red pepper lengths and place them so that there is 1 either side of the slice, and two under the bread slice. At continuation, place the cheese tirangles on the upper part of the b slice as these are the eyes, then the semi circle red pepper underneath, for the nose, and finally the semi-circle of fresh tomato, as this is the mouth. Finally, place two spots of tomato sauce inside each cheese triangle, for his eyeballs!
There you have your Mr. Strong character all ready to eat! Enjoy!
Children really love little figures on their plate as they can relate to them as “little people” so why not make them their favourite figure for them to eat? That´s exactly what I did in this recipe, I made up a prince and a princess just out of some fish fingers, mini pasties and sausages. Here´s what you need:

Ingredients:
1 green pepper
2 sausages
2 Fish fingers
1 mini tuna croquet
1 mini tuna pasty
tomato ketchup
1 slice of cheese
mayonnaise
oil (Sunflower or olive)
How to prepare:
The first step to get all the frying process done, so fry the sausages, the fish fingers, the pasty and the croquet in the frying pan in 3 table sppons of oil, I use sunflower oil, but you can use olive oil if you like. It´s important to make sure that the sausages are cooked enough so that they begin to curl, the trick is to slice them length-ways after about 5 minutes then cook them until they curl.
Next, cut the cooked sausages into 8 even lengths, these will serve as the arms and legs for the stick men. The next step is to take the green pepper and cut out a skirt shape, and trouser shape. The remainder of the green pepper will be the ´grass´which will be positioned along the bottom of the plate. Then, take the cheese slice and cut out a large shape of a crown, and a smaller shaped crown. Finally, have ready the mayonnaise, and ketchup as now you are all prepared to create the prince and princess.
Put the fish fingers side by side on the plate, this is the start of creating the figures. At the top of the right hand fish finger put the mini pasty, this is the head, then take the skirt shape green pepper and place it at the bottom of the fish finger. Now, for the arms and legs; take the sausages and put 1 at either side of the fish finger figure, these are the arms, and then 2 underneath the skirt, as the legs. Now, do the same with the left hand fish finger, place the mini croquet at the end of the figure, this is the head, and take the green pepper trouser shape and place it at the end of the fish finger.
At continuation, take the sausages and place 1 either side of the fish finger they are the arms, and 1 underneath each trouser leg for the prince´s legs. At continuation take the ´crowns´ made from the cheese putting the larger one of the two on top of the ´head´of the prince and the smaller one on top of the´head´of the princess.
To finish off, take ketchup and squeeze two out two eyes and a mouth on each figure, and then with the mayonnaise squeeze out three buttons down the fish finger on each figure. So, there you have it! Now you have your prince and princess meal for your children to enjoy. Happy eating!
This fun recipe was made along with my little girl one afternoon for lunch. The recipe was actually a joint idea and as she loves to sketch houses and suns in her spare time, she also wished to have her´drawing´on a plate. My daughter likes fried potatoes and so with a little bit of my help she cut the shapes herself. The recipe is as follows:

Ingredients
1 and 1/2 potatoes (medium size)
3 table spoons of olive oil (or sunflower oil)
salt (to your liking)
How to prepare:
The first step is to wash the potatoes well then peel them. The next step is to slice the potaotes into various shapes (about 1/2 cm thick). The trees and sun are the easiest shapes to do, remembering always to vigilate your child so that he or she doesn´t have any accidents. Slice all the shapes; the sun, the grass, the house, the rays of sun, then you can start to fry all the shapes in the frying pan. I used approximately 3-6 table spoons of olive oil, as I find it healthier, but you can use sunflower oil if you like. Next, fry the shapes until they become a nice golden brown colour, and then take them off the heat. Now you´re ready to place the shapes onto the plate. You may position the house and trees any way you like, although my recipe was just like her drawing.
So there you have it! A very easy and tasty funny recipe for your child, and a great way to have fun with chips. Enjoy your meal kids!
